We analyse regulatory, political, policy and counterparty risks that pose commercial or reputational risks to our clients. We also advise businesses on investment decisions and market entry into the oil and gas, power, financial services and manufacturing industries. WNT Capitas has the capacity to deliver risk analysis services in key West African markets, Equatorial Guinea and South Africa.

We bring a variety of skills and experiences—media relations, government relations, stakeholder analysis and engagement, research, as well as policy and political analysis—to bear on the assignments we handle for our diverse clientele.
Our experience spans assignments for clients including West African Telecommunications Regulators Assembly, Lafarge Africa PLC, the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, Tolaram Group, The Government of The Gambia, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Maevis Infrastructure Nigeria Limited, PZ, Cambridge University Press, the Economic Community of West African States, and the Office of the Chief Economic Adviser to the Nigerian President.
Abimbola consults on governance and policy reform and communication. He has worked on projects for The North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), co-editing the book “Science and Society in the Face of the New Security Threats” (IOS Press, Amsterdam) with Mary Sharpe at the University of Cambridge. He also worked on the NATO project “Governance and International Security” at the University of Bristol. He has consulted for other international and Nigerian agencies on governance reform, trade, and investment promotion. These include the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), and the Federal Ministry of Health. He taught the course: “The Social and Political Environment of Business” at the Lagos Business School in 2008.
From March 2010 to August 2011, he was Chairman of the Communication Committee of the Presidential Task Force for Power Sector Reform (PTFP) in Abuja where he led the development and execution of a strategy to promote Nigeria’s electric power industry reform to labour unions, the media, and local and international investors. He recently completed a book chapter “Corporate Social Responsibility and Latecomer Industrialization in Nigeria” (with Professor Richard Joseph of Northwestern University and Kelly Spence of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs).
Abimbola also advises foreign direct investment professionals on regulatory, commercial, and reputational risks. He has been a Visiting Member of the Editorial Boards of BusinessDay and the Guardian Newspapers, where he contributed opinions on economic policy and governance.
Usman has a decade of work experience spanning business advisory, governance consulting, and policy analysis. He started his post-graduate practice with Nextzon Business Services, a management consulting firm where he was between 2011 and 2014. The highlight of his stay at the company was being a member of the team that drafted the economic blueprint for a South Eastern state in Nigeria, and subsequently becoming a member of the state’s economic team. While at the company, he was also involved in the conceptualization and fundraising for an agency banking outfit in Nigeria, market research for the creation of an industrial park in a South Western state in Nigeria, and power usage research for General Electric, among others.
He joined WNT Capitas in 2014 where his varied experience in research and strategy development is being deployed to fit into client needs. This has seen him work on different projects including being a member of the team that drafted the visibility and communication strategy for the European Union Delegation in Nigeria. He has also been involved in advising foreign direct investment professionals on regulatory, commercial, and reputational risks in Nigeria and other African countries.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics at Lead City University and a masters’ degree in public policy with a focus on International Political Economy at the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy, University of Erfurt.
Yunus is a First-Class Graduate of Accounting from the University of Lagos and a Postgraduate Student at the Nigerian University of Technology and Management (NUTM). He possesses 2 years of work experience in Investment Management, Financial Markets and Macroeconomics Research. Between 2020 – 2021, Yunus served as an Investment Analyst at Marble Capital Limited, where he was in charge of recommending investment solutions to retail and high-net-worth clients, as well as managing commodities investment portfolios. Prior to this, he worked as a Macroeconomic Research Analyst at Economic Direct Hub, a macroeconomic media platform that provides insights and analysis on macroeconomic events where he covered and produced reports on Sub-Saharan African economies. Working as a Wealth Management Spring Analyst at Standard Chartered Bank, Ghana, Yunus facilitated client relationship management by participating in investment sales pitches, investment analysis and performance reporting on SCB investment products. Besides, his experience at KPMG Nigeria as an Audit Intern and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria as an Operations Intern has provided him with an understanding of internal reporting, audit procedures, business operations and risk analysis.
Yunus is a 2020 Winner of the Premier CFA Industry Ethics Challenge and a recipient of several scholarships including the $40,000 Fully funded Nigerian University Technology & Management Scholarship, the Lagos State Government Merit Award, the Federal Government of Nigeria Scholarship Award and the University of Lagos Endowment Award. He has participated in various leadership and finance programmes including the Edubridge Academy Programme, Talentmine Africa Finance Refinery and the Venture in Management Program at Lagos Business School. Ken has 24 years of experience as an Art Director. He joined one of the biggest advertising firms in Nigeria- Ogilvy Benson & Mather in 1994 after obtaining a B.A in Fine and Applied Art from the Sofia Academy of Arts, Bulgaria. He joined STB McCANN Lagos in 1997 where his work on the Coca-Cola account was adopted for campaigns in West and East Africa. Ken has worked on a variety of high-profile international and Nigerian accounts such as British Airways, Rothmans, Gillette, UNICEF, ECOWAS, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria, Ministry of Health, Smithkline Beecham, APMT Apapa Terminals, Nigeria Export Promotion Council, etc. Ken is also experienced in print production.
Vivian has over 10 years’ experience in health information management and administration. Prior to joining WNT Capitas, she worked at Evercare Hospital Lekki, a multinational tertiary care private hospital in Nigeria. She had for 7 years worked with various health insurance outfits such as Axa Mansard, Hygeia and Total Health Trust. Vivian graduated with a first-class degree in Statistics from the University of Ibadan; she has a Master’s degree from the same institution. She has published in Nigerian and international journals.
Tony has over 18 years’ experience in media and campaign planning. He was Deputy Managing Director at Momentum Media between 2005 and 2008. Prior to this, he was a Senior Manager at MediaCom Nigeria (Troyka Holdings). He has developed media and campaign strategy for brands and corporates such as Guinness FES, Total Nig, Toyota, UBA, Cadbury, Virgin Nigeria and Unilever. Tony has also worked on public affairs campaigns for organisations such as the UK Customs and Warri Industrial Park. He participated actively in the development of the $9 million 13-hectare Arena Shopping Complex as a General Manager with the Real Estate firm, Wobbs Resources. A 2002 graduate of Mass Communication from The Polytechnic of Ibadan, Tony has Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the University of Ibadan and a Master’s Degree in Marketing Communication from Rome Business School. He has participated in diverse executive and media training courses within and outside Nigeria at institutions such as The Lagos Business School, Business School of Netherlands, MediaCompete South Africa, Shaw Academy UK, Research International etc.
Tomi is a Geology graduate of Crawford University that decided to pursue a career in strategic communications after an internship at WNT Capitas . He has 4 years’ experience in corporate communications, producing and commissioning content and building relationships with journalists. Tomi is also skilled in developing stakeholder and influencers profiles and producing content for social media.
